Some last minute shoppers celebrated a giftless Christmas this year, after retailers made shipping promises they were unable to deliver.Customers have toyed with using e-commerce to make holiday purchases for a decade. And in recent years, many have come to accept, and even rely upon last-minute delivery services to purchase gifts in time for Christmas. But this year, encouraged by promises of retailers who guaranteed on-time delivery even a few days before Christmas, shoppers took that confidence too far.Check the people who've liked the related videos on YouTube and see if they list their social information, for example, spiderman costume and point out your new content to them.Last weekend, with just days remaining before the holiday, an unprecedented number of customers made online purchases. That wave of last minute shoppers ultimately clogged shippers' systems causing some orders to come after the holiday. Shoppers made around 37% more online purchases from Dec. 20 to 22 than they had during the same period a year ago, according to International Business Machines Corp.'s Analytics Benchmark.
This surge was partly due to greater comfort with mobile ordering, giving customers another venue for last-minute buys. Purchases made consumers using mobile devices accounted for 21.5% of online purchases in those last days before the holiday, 53% more than in 2012, according to IBM.Retailers like Amazon.com Inc.AMZN -1.56%, Wal-Mart Stores Inc.WMT +0.10% and Kohl's Corp.KSS +0.45% also encouraged consumers to make last-minute decisions, said Forrester analyst Sucharita Mulpuru. While the deliveries were late because shippers failed to meet expectations, Ms. Mulpuru says there is enough blame to go around. "I put blame more squarely on retailers — they set expectations inappropriately," Ms. Mulpuru said. Promoting an option of last-minute shopping made the shipping bottleneck — and late gifts — a strong likelihood,I would advise that you don't do this for tons of micro-topics, of course, so don't go crazy creating a gazillion pages where the content could be condensed into one superhero costumes or just a few pages. Ms. Mulpuru said.
For example, Amazon emailed customers as late as Dec. 22, saying they could still get gifts on time for Christmas. And many shoppers were eager to take this option. Amazon said in the third week of December alone, a million customers signed up for "Prime" membership that grants members free two-day shipping. An Amazon spokeswoman said the company got its merchandize to carriers on time but is reviewing the performance of its shippers.Otherwise, you'll dilute your site with nonsense and probably start running into internal duplicate content issues.Socialize it and morphsuit show it to people who might be interested.
